New Portsmouth Mining Corporation
New Portsmouth Mining Corporation is a company focusing on precious metal exploitation and industrial-scale farming. It is the oldest corporation within the Kennedy estate and was founded on the 29th of August 2023 by Megalomart, who remain the sole shareholder to this day.
Its motto is Opus et Fortitudinem (Work and Strength).
History
The company was originally chartered to maintain and operate manual mining operations exclusively within lower New Portsmouth, with its first mine being established in Bay Street in the Old Town.
The company quickly expanded to mining for terracotta, gold and rails within Deadbush Hills shortly after expanding to operate all manual mines within the estate.
Following this expansion it was unclear the exact delineation between what industrial-scale farms were controlled by the corporation and what were owned by the estate, to resolve this issue after the construction of the first automatic cobble farm in Deadbush Hills, the corporation was officially granted a charter to maintain and operate all industrial-scale farms and all manual mines within the estate.
On the 30th of May 2023 the headquarters of the corporation was moved from Kennedy Manor in Greater New Portsmouth to the the former Deadbush Hills Territorial Government HQ. Despite the geographical change the name was kept the same to showcase the history of the organisation. Following the start of construction on Riverside District there has been consideration into moving the company HQ back to New Portsmouth, this time being run from a building in Riverside, likely located in Birch Street.
