Kennedy Estate

The Kennedy Estate is a large contiguous land mass owned by Megalomart.

Geography

The Estate contains a large variety of biomes, indeed nearly all 1.19 biomes are present within it's borders with the bulk being occupied by various temperate forests.

All permanent settlements lye within a 200 blocks latitude of each other, a result of both the history of the founding and development of the region and the easier geographic features of these corridor.

Economy

The economy of the estate could best be described as a state-led market economy, although significant opportunities for free enterprise exist many key industries are in the hands of either the the estate itself or royal corporations (owned directly by Megalomart) with key examples being mining, rail and almost all of the regions industrial-scale farms. This means that small-scale enterprise is common however nearly all large scale transactions, especially international trades, are conducted by state enterprises. Such a level of economic control is deemed necessary by the government in order to fund the state due to the 0 taxation policy enacted on a national scale with royal corporations accounting for the major of the estate's income in 2023.

Demographics

The Estate is the largest nation in the server with an active population of 3 and a total population of 6. For the longest time the largest settlement was the captial of New Portsmouth however it was overtaken by the city of Benderton in April of 2023.

Administrative Structure

The Estate is the personal property of Lord Duke (sometimes referred to as King) Megalomart and largely operates as a dictatorship with some minor democratic elements at local levels of government.

The land of the Estate are organised in the following structure:

1. Estate - Everything owned directly by the state
2. Statistics Region - Used in addresses only, not a legal authority
3. Province - A collection of settlements
4. Noble Domain / Letted Land / Letted Domain -- Land letted under the terms of the Provision of Land and Titles Act
5. City / Town - Collection of buildings
6. Districts - Only used in the Greater New Portsmouth area
7. Building - A structure that could reasonably be considered to be feasible to use for industrial, entertainment, government or residential purposes.

Cities

There are two cities in Kennedy Estate, Benderton and New Portsmouth.

Cities are run by mayors, if the mayor is also a noble they gain the title Lord Mayor. Mayors are either appointed by directly Megalomart, in which case the most active player will usually be chosen, or he may call a mayoral election and then appoint the winner to the post.

There is currently one Mayor and one Lord Mayor with Megalomart serving as Lord Mayor of New Portsmouth and Big_Floppa17 serving as Mayor of Benderton.

Districts

Districts are a unique organisational unit applied only to New Portsmouth due to it's size. They are used in order to plan areas to fit a specific aesthetic and to ensure that the city can be planned. Areas not within a district are referred to as city land and are administered directly by the city council.

Residents of each district elect a representative to both govern the district and to represent the district in city council. Those living in city land may elect a single councilor to represent them.

District laws are more specific in scope than city council laws with districts having power to construct buildings freely without city council approval and to enact local ordinances in regards to zoning and the visual design of buildings.

Currently there are 5 active districts and 2 planned.

Transport

The Estate is well connected to all major transport routes. The nether highway's Kennedy line runs directly through the Estate starting at Meerloch and ending in Eighgarg. New Portsmouth's nether highway stop sits directly opposite the Western Highway Bypass allowing for connections to Greatistan.

The Estate also has the world's largest railway transit network with nearly all settlements having a railway station. There are three railway lines, the Western Main Line, which runs from Meerloch to Benderton, the Northern Line which runs from Benderton to Rinkerby and the Rinkerby & City line that runs from Rinkerby to New Portsmouth. Prior to the construction of the Rinkerby and City Line there was only one line with what is now the Northern Line combined into the Western Main Line.

The estate also contains a single end portal within its borders, located just outside of the southern coast of Deadbush Hills. It is accessible both via the Kennedy Line on the nether highway and via End Portal station located on the Western Main line.
